SyncJe and BlackBerry Service Books

Depending on the BIS service involved and the Service Books on the BlackBerry, using SyncJe to add events to your BlackBerry calendar may cause your device to send emails to others who are invited to the same events. If you experience this problem, you have the option to remove a Service Book from your BlackBerry to prevent these calendar-triggered emails from being generated.

Note: These instructions are provided as is. If you want to have a complete set of Service Books sent to your BlackBerry by your service provider, use a web browser to log into your BIS account and select the option for Service Books to be sent from the BIS. If you experience difficulties obtaining new Service Books, please contact your service provider for additional help with Service Books.

To reach the Service Books on your BlackBerry:

  1. From the home screen, select Options.
  2. Select Service Book if that option is available. Otherwise, select Advance Options and then Service Book. In your list of Service Books, you should see either:
    • two Service Books named after your email address -OR-
    • multiple Service Books named Desktop with additional information in square brackets

If you see two Service Books named with your email address:

  1. Select the first of the two Service Books and bring up the contextual menu.
  2. Select View from the menu.
  3. Examine the CID for the Service Book. If the CID is not CICAL, click Back/Escape and repeat steps 1 and 2 for the other of the two Service Books.
  4. Select the Service Book with the CID CICAL and bring up the contextual menu.
  5. Select Delete from the menu.

If you see multiple Service Books named Desktop:

  1. Select the Service Book named Desktop [CICAL].
  2. Select Delete from the menu.
