Windows Vista, Office 2007, and dCal software
Oracle has recently certified their Windows Desktop Client to work with Microsoft Windows Vista, but other Oracle Calendar software still has issues with Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Outlook 2007 to work with their calendar software. The following products are known to have issues with Microsoft's new software:
- Oracle Calendar Sync for PocketPC/Palm (incompatible with Windows Vista)
- Oracle Connector for Outlook (incompatible with Outlook 2007)
Oracle Calendar Sync for PocketPC/Palm
The current version of the Oracle Calendar Sync software for PocketPC/Palm is incompatable with Windows Vista. Oracle has not released a version of the Oracle Calendar Sync software for PocketPC/Palm that is certified for Windows Vista. The dCal technical team knows of no plans for Oracle to support running the Oracle Calendar Sync for PocketPC/Palm on Windows Vista in the current version of Oracle Calendar. The next production release of Oracle Calendar cis not expected until 2008.
When Oracle releases a version of the Oracle Calendar Sync software for PocketPC/Palm that runs on Windows Vista, the dCal technical team will communicate this to the dCal announcement list.
Oracle Connector for Outlook
The current version of the Oracle Connector for Outlook is incompatable with Microsoft Outlook 2007. Oracle has stated that they are planning to support a Connector for Microsoft Outlook 2007 for use with the current version of Oracle Calendar, with an anticipated release date of Summer 2008.
When Oracle releases a version of the Oracle Connector for Outlook that supports Outlook 2007, the dCal technical team will communicate this to the dCal announcement list.
