Oracle Connector for Outlook
If you use Microsoft Outlook and want to use it to access dCal, (rather than using the Oracle desktop client for Windows), install the Oracle Connector for Outlook (OCFO). With the OCFO, you will configure Outlook to access the dCal server rather than a Microsoft Exchange server. (Please see our notes on dCal software and Office 2007.)
Before you begin
The Oracle Connector for Outlook requires Microsoft Outlook 2000 or higher running on Windows 2000 or higher. If you need to access dCal from Microsoft Windows 98 or ME, use the Oracle Calendar web client. Older versions of Microsft Outlook and all versions of Outlook Express are not supported. If you are currently using Outlook, we highly recommend that you back up any existing profiles (see Microsoft Knowledge Base article 287070 for instructions) before proceeding. Also, installing the OCFO into an existing Outlook profile can yield undesirable results. We therefore additionally recommend that, after backing up your information, you delete any existing profiles before installing OCFO. After installing and configuring OCFO, you can import information from your back-up into the new OCFO-created profile if desired.
