Using dCal resources
About dCal resources
A dCal resource is a dCal account that is used to schedule an object, a group of objects, or the activities for a group of calendar users. You can schedule a resource the same way you schedule an individual, by adding (inviting) it to a meeting.
Defining a dCal resource
When discussing dCal resources, it is important to understand the technical requirements and their practical application.
- Technical requirements - What pieces of information are necessary to add a resource to dCal? What rules are used to standardize this information?
- Practical application - How do resources in dCal work? How can we define dCal resources for maximum efficiency and flexibility?
Finding dCal resources
Finding a dCal resource involves searching for a resource and finding an available resource.
- Searching for a resource - How to use each of the many ways available to find the dCal resources available to you.
- Finding an available resource - Now that you've found the appropriate resources, how do you tell which are available?
Requesting a new dCal resource
After reviewing the technical requirements for a dCal resource and their practical application, you may request a new resource (or a change to an existing resource) by submitting a dCal resource request. A dCal administrator will review your request.
Once your dCal Resource Request is approved, the resource will be created. You will then be considered the Resource Manager for that resource and will be expected to fulfill certain responsibilities.
Managing dCal resources
After your requested resource is added, you may need to manage the resource, modifying its Access Rights or Agenda.
